Day "It's Really Close Now!"

Wow. It's here practically. I'm so excited and I'm not worried about anything. I hada snafu with a bridesmaid this weekend, well, she was a maid of honor, but she has since been downgraded, but that's a story for another time. Let's just say she made her bed and she has to lie in it and I feel like a weight has been lifted off my chest when it comes to that situation. I'm not worried about her behavior on the wedding day...if she knows what's good for her, she'll keep quiet and be on her best behavior. Or I'll sic Doug or Dawn on her. And anyone who knows Doug knows how intimidating and scary he can be. LOLOL

I'm pretty much stress free and it's great. This week will just be wrapping up all the loose ends and making some phone calls, but it's all good. We'll be getting the favors all tied up and ready and stuff, and yeah. I'm so excited for the wedding. =) Tonight we go to the church to meet with Fulk, our DJ, and Joe, our minister, to work out the flow of things and such. It'll be all good. Then cleaning the house tonight and tomorrow night and Wednesday people start coming. lol

Day 25

So yesterday I made all of our major appointments for this week, so that was a little bit of time on the phone setting that up. I also typed up the poem Misty wrote for the wedding favors to get it all laid out and decide just exactly how small I can make it and so on and so forth.

The biggest thing that happened yesterday was Myles spending a big part of the evening up at his computer, going through Joe Satriani songs for the wedding. There is one we're going to play at the end of the ceremony and then he's chosen a slew of them to be played pre-dinner and during dinner, before the dancing music starts and stuff. I thought it was really awesome that My went upstairs when he got home from work and just did it. =) It meant a lot to me that he put that much time and energy into it without me saying a word. =)

That was about it for yesterday, but like I said before, the closer we get, the more there will be. Today (day 24) we meet with the wedding photographer after work and will probably have to give him our first unborn child. Or maybe it's our second. I know that the Holiday Inn Select gets one and the photographer gets the other. Still haven't worked out all the details, but I'm sure someone will be there to cart them off as I pop them out. Or something like that.

Anywho, hopefully all goes well with the photographer and we get all that figured out, without Myles discussing too much side stuff with the guy. =) Everytime we're there, they get into these long conversations. Sigh. But, oh well.

Day????

Yeah, I know. I've sucked at keeping up on this. =P I was really super good in the beginning, but as any of you who know me know how I am...you probably figured that wouldn't last for long.

I can't believe it's already the middle of September!!! Wow. There is now less than a month until the wedding, and believe it or not, I'm not stressing. =) I've got the majority of everything done, so I'm not completely bombarded with things to do. And as I was going over the list of things that need to be done with Myles yesterday, he actually paid me a really nice compliment and said that I'd done a really good job with all of this. =) Yeah, that made me really happy.

This week will be busy for us where wedding stuffs is concerned. Tomorrow we meet with our photographer after work, Wednesday at noon we meet with our reception guru, and then on Thursday we'll be getting our before-the-wedding trims. =P And then friday is Samantha's birthday party at our house. So, yeah, we're pretty busy with stuff this week. It's getting down the wire, but I'm comfortable with where we are and not worried about it at all. =) I'm just excited for it to finally be here. I know guys aren't into the whole wedding thing, so I've tried not to bother Myles with too much of it, but I'm hoping he at least enjoys the day of the wedding. =P

Day 31

Well, we went out today and bought our rings. And after three hours of looking and comparing, we chose them. =) I don't have a picture of Myles's, since they are bringing in two more from another store so he can choose which one (er, diamonds), he likes the best. And mine, well, Myles basically chose it for me, and it's AMAZING.

The only part that sucks about it? I just got a fantastic new ring that looks wonderful with my killer engagement ring, and I can't freaking wear it for another month. LOL Yeah, that kinda blows. Myles's is similar to mine, only his is bigger, cuz, well, he's a guy. If he wore something the exact same as mine, he'd look pretty effeminate. That's just no good for me.

And in other wedding news, well, there is none. We've been busy lately and we haven't really done anything, but we know we have to get it done and it's all good. Nothing too major to do other than meet with some people, order a few things and so on and so forth.

Day 38

As the wedding day and festivities get closer, I'm pretty much doing at least something wedding related every day. =) Yesterday it was getting some invites ready for Myles to take to work this morning and going over some RSVP stuffs. And we've also been in cleaning/project mood this week to get ready for Saturday. We don't really need to do any cleaning and such, since we're not filthy pigs, it just gives us an excuse to get things done that we normally wouldn't...like putting chair rail up and getting the carpets cleaned. =) Oh, and Myles cleaning his office. LOL It's his man cave, so I never say anything about it, but I LOVE it when he cleans it all up nice. hahah.

So much for which day it is

I've sucked lately at keeping this up, mostly because we've had so much going on. This weekend has been all about wedding stuff actually, in some form or another. We've been working on getting some home improvement projects done before Saturday so we don't have a bunch of unfinished stuff. =) I'm moved into my office and the chair rail will be going up one night this week, so that's all done. It's really nice to have everything in one place, all of my reference books and all that good stuff. I've been needing to seperate work from everything else anyway. Writing and editing is always done in front of the TV and that's no good. So, from now on, that's no longer an issue. I'll be holed up in my office most of the time, and I'm okay with that. It's MUCH less distracting this way.

Misty and I headed down to South Bend on Saturday for my final dress fitting. It went great! =) Much better than I had anticipated, and a lot cheaper than we had thought it would be, too. The dress zipped up fine, but I ended up having them take out a half an inch on both sides of my ribcage justs so I could breathe a little easier. I'm sure I'm going to want to be able to take deep breaths on the day of the wedding. LOL I'll have to actually go back on Wednesday October 1 to try it on and pick it up, which kind of sucks, but, oh well. =P I'll get to have $1 margaritas with Mom and Dad afterward. I'll just stay the night and drive to work in the morning.

The rest of the wedding stuff is pretty much done, just a few straggling RSVPs that I need to get, of people that I know for a fact will be in the wedding, because, well, they're in it. LOL I need to send an email out to my bridesmaids about some final things, but that's no big deal. We need to make the programs and order the cardstock for the place cards, since the color of the card will determine for the waiters/waitresses what entree that person is eating. It'll be much easier for them that way. And fear not, we're not seating anyone other than a few tables up front by the head table for the spouses and children of people in the wedding, and our parents and my grandparents. Everyone else can sit where they want. =)

We're getting down to the wire here, but there's really not that much to do. I can't believe my bridal shower is this Saturday. Unbelievable!

I still have to think about bridesmaid gifts, too, but I'm just not sure what to do about that. The only person I know what I'm absolutely going to do for is Misty. Finding a gift to get four other people is difficult, since it's hard to choose one that that everyone will like and won't shove in a drawer or throw away when they get home. I've seen a lot of things I like, but I'm not sure everyone else would like, but it's not like I have $100 per person to spend. So, we'll see what happens. Just not sure.

Day 51 - 47

Amazingly enough, I haven't been consumed with wedding stuffs. The only thing I did was cancel our DJ so that Jason, Misty's cousin, can DJ for us. I'd rather have someone I know do it. And it's a bonus that we're friends with him. I sat down last night to get him the information he needs about the big day, songs lists, people, etc. All of the pertinent stuff. I'm really needing to sit down and go over my To Do lists and see what all I can get done this week, since from here on out I'm sure things are going to be pretty hectic. This coming weekend is my final dress fitting, the weekend after that is my bridal shower, and the rest of september is shaping up to be darn busy, too. Then comes the first two weeks of October, which are jam packed for me.

I'm crossing my fingers about the dress this weekend. I've really been watching what I eat and trying to do some back exercises to work on the back flab. LOL That's what's making me unable to take a deep breath. It zips fine, I just have to be able to breathe in the damn thing. I've been wanting to go on walks with Myles, but we've just been so busy that it hasn't happened. So, cross your fingers for me!

Day 52

I got a few wedding things done today, but nothing major. Myles and I got Stephanie's dress sent out to her in Hawaii. She should get it on Thursday. And a piece of advice...only send VERY SMALL THINGS to Hawaii. Like, um, cards and letters. LOL Anywho...The cake topper also came in yesterday. It's very Myles and Tera. LOL I let Myles pick it out since he's kind of been in charge of the cake, since he's always had a very specific idea of what he wants. The cake of all things is what he's picky about. *shrug* Odd to me, but, hey, it's his wedding too. =)

I meant to get the DJ info out to Jason last night, but we ran a few errands and after I got home and get dinner made and out of the way, it was pushing 8:30, and I had to call my dad. =) Last night was his very last night of school. He has his MBA now!! That is so awesome and I'm so proud of him. When Mom and Dad are up for the 6th and we go out, we'll have more to celebrate!!! This is a huge accomplishment for him, and I just thinks it's really awesome. =)

Day 57

Not too much wedding stuff other than I sent an email to Jason to make sure he was 110% gonna do the DJing for our wedding. We decided on Saturday that we were gonna call and cancel the DJ we already have and have Jason do it if he could. =) And he can. So we will have an awesome DJ who happens to be one of our friends, and Misty's cousin. lol

The only other thing I did was to tie some ribbons on some bubbles. Woo hoo! LOL I actually didn't finish, because I'm thinking I'm not going to need all of them tied, due to the reduced number of people. So I'm then just gonna give the extras to the kids to blow. =) They'll have fun with that.

And that really about it. Had some discussions with the moms, but really nothing else. It's winding down, with what exactly I have to do, so we're getting there! I can't believe how fast it's coming. It's less than two months away now, and my bridal shower is in like three weeks. And with as busy as Myles and I are, and the list of stuff I want to get done to the house, that's not much time. Considering the fact that next Saturday Myles and I are going to be gone all day in Indy at and air show, and the next weekend, though three days long, I'll be out of town Saturday and a lot of Sunday since I'll be going to South Bend and staying with Mom and Dad and Matt, spending time with them and having my final dress fitting.

Thursday, August 14, 2008

Day 58

I had planned on getting the bubbles done tonight, but alas, I didn't. And I don't feel bad about it in the slightest, because instead of sitting around the house on my butt, Myles and I actually went on a walk. We're going to try and go every other day. And the walk we went on was no small walk, either. It was about two miles or so, from our house to the Blakely house (which is where we used to live). I was feeling it by the time I got home, but I'm not sore today, so that's a positive. And I about freaked out on Myles last night, because after the walk, when I walked upstairs, my knee didn't pop. LOL I was soo happy. It did this morning, though. So, more walks it is. I'm trying to work really hard to lose the last bit of weight in the next couple of weeks. This dress thing is stressing me out something fierce. No ice cream, no junk food, no nothing. It's been hard, but I'm managing. The only thing I haven't given up, which is a huge source of fat and calories, is my gas station cappucino on Monday-Friday mornings. I'm going to make today my last day of it, though. *sigh* Tonight is some weight training in front of the TV and another walk tomorrow. I can do this, I know I can. I only have a TEENY bit more to go before the dress is a perfect fit. It WILL be done. =)

Day 60

Well, I had intended to get some wedding stuff done today, but alas, that did not happen. We're still have problems with our internet, so by the time we got done doing the flea cleaning, eating dinner, and Myles got off the phone with Comcast, I wasn't in the mood to do anything, and I didn't think Myles was in the mood for me to bug him about transferring wedding money. Hopefully I'll get some of it ordered on Day 59, since I REALLY need to get it done. I also plan on going through my wedding checklist on Day 59, too, and trying to finish anything I need to. What stinks is that there is a fair amount of things that can't be done until the last week or two...like meeting with people and so on and so forth. *sigh*

Day 61

I know I'm missing days in here, but it's okay, since nothing wedding related happened on them. =P

On day 61 (Sunday) I had planned to order a few things online and get them done and over with so I could cross a few things off my list. (I love to make list and cross things off of them) Instead, our internet decided to be a poo and not work. After we bought a new modem on Saturday, of course, because the "old" modem had been acting wonky. So, yeah, there went that idea.

And on top of that, we figured out that the cats have fleas. Woo hoo! We carried them home on us from the crappy rental. Gar. So last night at 8:00 PM, Myles and I left to get flea shampoo and foggers/bombs. Figures we had to find them on a Sunday. So after giving both cats a bath...NOT FUN...we stuck them in my Jeep, cracked the windows, and left it in the driveway. We then fogged the house and had to leave for two hours. Luckily, Brian and Ann don't go to bet early, so we were able to go over there and hang out with them for a couple of hours. Not too many people would be very happy with someone call up at almost ten at night on a Sunday, asking if they could come over, but Brian and Ann are awesome and didn't care. =)

I'm hoping that on Day 60 I'll be able to get my stuffs ordered and cross some stuff on my list. I also have to get my house cleaning and organizing list done before Sept 6, since people who've never been to my house will be over there for my bridal shower. So, yeah, I'll be a very busy bee for the the next two months.

Day Blah blah blah

I have no clue what day I'm on. LOL I've been really bad this week. I haven't done anything other than put some responses into my spreadsheet and pick up a couple of bridesmaid dresses, one of which I still have to send out. I haven't even sat down to finish working on Myles and my's wedding vows so that they're done before the 25th, which is our next meeting with Joe. Oh, and I got to see Samantha in her flower girl dress. When Brian and Ann and the kids came over for dinner on Tuesday, Ann brought it with her so I could see my Squirt in it. Oh she's soooooo cute! =)

Day 68 and Day 67

Day 68 Myles and I talked a teeny bit about the wedding, but nothing major at all.

And Day 67 we had our first meeting with Joe Park, the minister who is marrying us. Joe is just awesome. We spent pretty much the whole hour working out some logistics and going over our vows, which he loved. He said he gets sick of reading the traditional same old vows all the time. LOL I have a couple of things to tweak that I'm not so big on, and he agreed with me about those parts and gave me some ideas. Our next meeting with him is on August 25.

Man, I can't believe there is only two months until the wedding now. Wow.

Day 72

No wedding stuff other than being irked when I got home last night that there were no responses in my mailbox. =P It's still been all rental all the time, but today is the last day. Thank God! I'll probably be ordering some stuff this weekend and really going through my lists. On Saturday I also have to pick up Steph's bridesmaid dress so Myles can send it out to her in Hawaii on Monday. Man, I just really need to go through my list and get it all taken care of. =P

Wednesday, July 30, 2008

Day 73

There was actually a teeny bit of wedding stuff today. On my lunch hour, I managed to find the car coin bank that I saw and wanted to get for Kevin's ringbearer present. Misty found a couple too and sent me the links. I'm okay with all of them, so I'll probably show them to Myles this weekend and just let him choose which one. Race car, train, tractor... =P I also talked briefly to Myles last night and asked him if I could buy a few things this weekend and get them out of the way. He said yes with no complaint. =) Was a nice change. I think he's realizing how close the wedding is getting and that I really do have to get this stuff done. I think I'll run into less resistance with him about wedding stuffs from here on out.

And another thing...I wish people would hurry up and send their freaking response cards back. LOL The sooner I get them all back (HA! Like I'll get ALL of them back) the sooner Myles and I will know how many people will be at the reception, which translates into how much moolah we have to spend. =P

That's all for now, folks!

Friday, July 25, 2008

Day 78

Since Misty just reminded me that I had done this for day 79, I figured I'd better get on it. =)

The first wedding thing I did today was talk to Myles. Recently, he has been completely ignoring me or acting annoyed when I bring anything regarding the wedding up. With only two and a half months to go, I need him to take part. I know he's got the rental stuff going and he has a lot on my mind, but I need his input and his help. We agreed on work and rentals during the day and wedding in the evening. =) A small victory but one I am very pleased with.

I also called our minister up and made our first appointment with him. He wants us to do a couple of counseling sessions, and I'm actually curious to see how those turn out. We're going to be doing the first one on Monday Aug. 4. We'll be going over the wedding vows we chose, too.

Myles and I also discussed attendent gift. I'll be getting my girls gifts, but Myles has decided he's not going to do any for the guys. "Guys just don't give a shit about stuff like that." I guess he has a point there. Plus, they're his attendents and his choice, so whatever. =P I had chosen the gift for mine, but after all the "hidden" costs (engraving fees, shipping & handling and the like) it's just going to be WAY more money than I had budgeted. So, I spent yesterday evening looking for alternatives. I found some good ones, but I need to think about them and look some more. I really liked my first choice, and since Myles isn't doing gifts, I might be able to fudge the budget a little, but we'll see. I'm going to keep looking. =)

Dat 79

So, today I got an email with pictures of some jewelry designs for the 'maids from Stephanie. She was planning on working on more, but I already chose one that she already did 'cause I like it and so does Misty. =) And she's gonna make me one, too. Sweetness!
Got three more responses in the mail last night, all of people coming, but I was already expecting those peeps to come anyways, so they were already on my spreadsheet in the "yes" section, since we divided everyone into "yes", "no" and "maybe" sections.
Myles also got a phone call from his buddy Eric, who lives in Indy, and his wife won't be able to make it to the wedding. She was just put on permanent bed rest until the boys arrive, due to some complications. So, yeah, that sucks. Now there's a chance Eric might not be able to be in the wedding. Disappointing but COMPLETELY understandable.
Myles aslo got a phone call from his mother last night *cough* Misty *cough* Wondering why people out there and people who have only met me once MAYBE twice have been invited to my bridal shower. *raising an eyebrow* Care to explain that one, dear? And for the record, I gave Misty a specific list of people to invite, and she took it upon herself to invite more. =P So it's not my fault! For once.

Wednesday, July 23, 2008

Day 80

I managed to get a couple of minor things done today. I called and scheduled my final dress fitting. Yeah, I'm soooo scared for it. It's on August 30th, so that leaves me about five weeks to tone up my torso and lose the ten pounds or so that I still have to lose. But, hey, it's better than have to lose thirty pounds, which is what it was in the beginning. Eeek. I've been doing crazy amount of push-ups, since those are a good one to work your whole body, and I've been trying to do stretches and stuff while sitting at my desk. And I'm eating pretty healthy, too. Lots of water, yogurt, bananas, and Lean Cuisines. I eat "normal" for dinner, but I eat much smaller portions. And more water. I'm a woman on a mission. And if life would slow down just a teeny bit, and it would stop being 100 degrees outside, I might even be able to get some walks in in the evenings. At least I'm getting a bunch of exercise in with doing the rental, though. The dress zips up, I just can't take a deep breath in it, so I don't have too much to go at all.

I also called and left a message for my contact at the Holiday Inn Select to make some adjustments to the wedding. Just a couple of minor ones that won't really affect anything, but will save Myles and I some money, which is always good.

I also reorganized my "To Do/Buy" list, since I needed to add a couple of things to it, and it was getting messy. Those of you who know me know I don't like messy things. =) I'd rather re-write the whole list than to have to continue to look at the crossed-out items on it. That's just me, though.

And there has been nothing emotional or nothing "feeling"-wise lately. I don't think Myles and I have even discussed the wedding in a week or so. The last thing I want to do is bug him about wedding stuff when he's super-concentrated on getting Salem done and out of the way and paid for. So things are kind of on pause right now, and that's okay. We've got all the big stuff done, so we're pretty much good to go with everything. =)

Tuesday, July 22, 2008

Day 81

Not really any wedding stuffs today. I was pretty exhausted from this weekend, so I spent the day just trying to get through the day, not really thinking about anything other than what stuff still had to be done to Salem this coming weekend and maybe a couple of nights during this week. The tenants should be getting served today or tomorrow, so that'll amuse me, since they'll be pretty pissed off about it. =)

I got some response cards in the mail today and logged those into my spreadsheet, but I still have quite a few more that I need to get in. More than half of them. =) I love it when people are prompt, though. Myles and I really need them in, since we can budget better if we know how many people are attending.

I also talked a little bit to Ann about my bachelorette party today. Even though her plans for going out of town on October 4 aren't going to work out, she still wants to go out of town. I'm mixed on that. I'm going to have a TON of stuff to get done, plus, no one else will be able to go and I absolutely cannot afford ANY extra money on anything. But Ann said not to worry about that because she'll pay for me. Well, if no one else can go, that means she has to cover my whole cost, and that makes me feel bad. =(

Now I need to spend some time going through my To Do/To Buy list and figuring out what there is left to do.
